Cosmetic Expiration Date/ Manufacture Date/Expiration Date/ How to Keep your products!

I love cosmetic, and have quiet a lot of them.
When you so much of the cosmetic later I find cosmetic that I haven't seen in the long time. Maybe you've experienced this too. You might wonder if it is okay to use them. You sniff it a bit and see the color of the cream and you might just think it will be okay.

If you have used cosmetic that is way pass the expiration date, this might cause you irritation and might change your skin into sensitive skin.

I've made a list of products and their expiration date.
When it's not open they tend to have longer expiration date

If you have never opened the product you must check the manufacturing date if it's okay to use them.

But once you open the lid, you gotta start using them before time it up!

I also put up storage precautions please read and keep in mind how to keep your products. If you do not follow the storage precautions the product can be modified even before the expiration date.

I know these days Korean Cosmetic is making more natural product making the expiration date shorter or have their own expiration date, This is how you read their Manufacturing date and Expiration date.

HOW TO READ MANUFACTURING DATE

MFD/MFG/M
Abbreviation of Manufacture, after MFD/MFG/M will be numbers which stands for the manufacture date.
For example : M 20.04.13 -> This product is Manufactured at 2013 April 20th
Sometimes they would write it different
M 1309411 -> Manufatured at 2013 September 4th at the line number 11

A13H25
A is the fist of the alphabet which mean it's the 1st month of the year which is January
13 means the year which was manufactured, it's 2013
After the H is the date, 25th
For Example A13H25 -> January, 2013, 25th

FROD
This is abbreviation of Product Date read just numbers after it

HOW TO READ EXPIRATION DATE

EXP
Exp is the Abbreviation of Expiry Date
For Example : Exp 10.05.2013 -> 2010 May 10th

BBE/BE
Abbreviation of Best before, mean it's best quality before the date written after it
BBE 10.05.2013 means it's okay to use this product until 2013 May 10th

1013LJ05
First two numbers means months, the next two numbers are years,
3rd pair of two numbers means manufaturing code, last 2 means date
For Example : 1013LF05 -> 2013 October 5th

Pictures
Sometimes they tell you expiration date through pictures
This picture means how much months you can use this the moment you open it
This picture means you got 12 months to use this product up once you open this product.

I hope these information was useful to you all!

  5. I have always heard that Mascara goes bad in 6 months but always assumed it was wrong. I guess I am lucking to have had no issues as I have always kept mine for longer. I would just always assume that cosmetics are made to have a long shelf life
    so good to know that this is not true.

  6. I tend to think like that too, but I couldn't think like that any more after I used 2 year old cream on my face and have terrible rash all over.
    After that I learned even Cosmetic can go bad.
    That's why some products are recommended to be stored in fridge for longer use.
    Now that you know how to use the cosmetic safe, watch out those due dates!

  7. Hi! I just got my cleanser through a sale and there's only the manufactured date and the 12m picture but no expired date. Is it okay to use it eventhough it was produced one year ago?

    1. Did you opened it a year ago? If not, I believe it's okay to use it just if anything bad happens to your skin stop using it ASAP

  8. This is a staple for me now! I use it all over my body where it is needed! Makes a great hair mask too and my boyfriend sometimes uses it as an aftershave when his skin is irritated. Great for sunburns too!
